WINTER NEWSLETTER  PEEL STANDARD CONDOMINIUM CORPORATION NO. 887 60 FAIRWOOD CIRCLE, BRAMPTON

Tips for Snow Birds With winter already here, many of us want to escape the cold temperatures and travel south. But before we do, it is important to remember some simple housekeeping tips before getting on the airplane: Unit Temperature: Keep your heat ON! We see it all too often. A Homeowner goes on vacation and decides to turn off the heat to save a few extra dollars. The temperatures fall and the pipes freeze, burst, & the unit floods. Please keep your heat on at moderate level to avoid any incident involving frozen pipes! Hosebibs: Turn off your hosebibs. Locate the shut off and cut off the flow of water for the winter. With temperatures dropping below zero, this should be completed as soon as possible.

CO Kills/Idling Cars in Garages With new requirements in effect Oct 15, 2015 every unit with Garage MUST have CO detector. In addition ALL units must have CO detector on a same level where your Furnace is. Idling cars in Garages is never a good idea. Shall you intend to warm your car please open garage door or  move outside. It is the responsibility of homeowner to have all Smoke and CO Detectors in good working order. To ensure your detector is working please do a test by pressing a test button on the detector and follow instruction on it to know if your equipment is faulty.

Storage on Common Element Area Please do not store anything outside your unit as it is unsightly and we would like to maintain an attractive appearance at the front and back of all homes. Please use your garage to store any item, or bring them inside your house. Satellite Dishes are NOT allowed at this property.

Visitor Parking PARKNGO company providing Visitors’ Parking enforcement services at your site. In order to register your visitor’s vehicle please register online www.parkngo.ca When prompted for Guestmail box # 887. Please do not park your vehicle in the visitor parking as it is for visitors only. We are working with parking enforcement to catch any and all violators of the visitor parking rules. If you have visitors, ensure they are registered or they may go home with a ticket.

Garage Door Closures A quick reminder to residents to close your garage door. As the temperatures drop, rodents and pests will look for a warm place to call home. In addition to the risk of pests, it is again, unsightly for the community when garage doors are left open for weeks at a time. This also jeopardizes safety of your and your neighbour’s property.

Garbage Units with garages have curb-side pickup on Thursdays. These units are NOT allowed to use Garbage Building. Violators will be dealt with accordingly as we now have 24/7 CCTV.

Stoop and Scoop Policy Residents, please be advised that there is a stoop and scoop by-law in effect for the City of Brampton which states that pet feces must be picked up on a per occurrence basis. Furthermore, it is very unsightly for the community and is also a health hazard. Don’t let your dogs pee on grass, it destroys. Please contact us with any of your concerns.
